Pryor Callaway

Sculpting space at the intersection of art, design, and architecture.

Pryor Callaway is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in New York City whose work blurs the boundaries between sculpture, architecture, and functional design. Born in 1975 in Mississippi to an art teacher mother, her creative journey began early and has since evolved into a dynamic career at the intersection of fine art and industrial design.

Callaway holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, and a Master’s in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. With over 25 years of experience in architecture and furniture design, she has developed a distinctive voice that fuses sculptural form with industrial materiality.

Callaway's installations and design work are aimed at activating architectural space through raw, industrial materials, often evoking both physical engagement and conceptual reflection. Her work has been featured in INTERNI, Interior Design Magazine, New York Magazine, and exhibited in venues including Art Basel Miami (Avant Gallery, 2011), Artist’s Take Times Square (2012), and the Boffo Showhouse in NYC (2012).

In addition to her artistic practice, Pryor is committed to social impact through design. She served on the board of Mothers To Mothers, an international non-profit focused on maternal and child health in Africa. As part of this work, she designed a Daycare and Learning Center in the Amacho Wato Kebele Village in Ethiopia—an initiative addressing cultural and educational needs through innovative, community-centered architecture.
